Johnny Burrell is a people-focussed photographer & director. Based in the UK but has shot all over the world, working with a wide variety of brands. As a visual storyteller, he believes in capturing authentic moments, with integral personality and truth. This honest approach has given him access to unique people, cultures and locations, whether it be through stills or motion.

Background

Lives in London but born & raised in the East Midlands. Brought up by his Grandparents, growing up on a diet of film-noir matinee classics, 1980’s pop culture (Transformers) and travelling the world. Given his first camera – a 35mm Halina autoflip – at the age of 7 and been shooting ever since. Obsessed with storytelling, Johnny’s photography has a strong emphasis on people with real stories at their heart.

For Johnny, photography isn’t just about the final image, it’s the process. Setting up the scenes, crafting the light and bringing the people to life by drawing out their identity and character. Using his friendly and relaxed nature to create authentic lifestyle and location imagery.
